TGIF

Jesus Lord, thank you for letting me make it through another week without going buck. I am pressed with the constant stupidity of some people and this trying to be humble and understanding is a challenge. I'm on my grown woman shit and handle things differently now but dammit if I don't wanna just shake em out real quick. Wheeeeeew!

Yo, real talk tho, this weekend has a six pack and pedicure with my name plastered all over it. Can't tell me nothing.

Weekend warriors......the struggle starts in 5 hours. Bam.

Eggplant

For the past few months I've been going to a weekly farmers maket.

Today, I fell in love with a stand of bright plum Japanese eggplants. Not only are they beautiful but they taste amazing. Thanks to my friends at Pinterest I was able to find quick and simple ways to cook them. I settled on sautéed in garlic. I paired it with a whole wheat pasta and good olive oil. It was so amazing. The only thing missing was a good wine. Belly so happy tho!

Successful hump day and long live the eggplant.

Sickie

Everyone around me is getting sick! Oh- oh! :/

I bought cod liver oil, a multivitamin, and a vitamin c supplement. Hypochondriac much?

All joking aside, I've been seriously contemplating changing to an 80/20 veggie/meat diet. The more I read about the harmful effects of practically everything I'm currently eating, it's an easier choice to make. What really started this off is a book I'm reading called , A Year of no Sugar. I'm three chapters in and shocked at how much sugar is in everyday food. Sugar=colds, flus, poor health, etc.

I'm hoping I don't get sick. Crossing fingers and taking my vitamins.

Soccer Sundays

USA is playing Portugal and instead of hitting the pub I decided to watch it with the rest of San Francisco at civic center square. The energy of the fans is electric and the sea of red, white, and blue is hypnotizing.

Girlfight

It's the weekend. No work. No stress. No worries.

I kicked off the weekend by taking in some live amateur fights at 3rd Street Boxing Gym. To my surprise they had girls in the lineup! Yaaaas!

Growing up the daughter of a boxer and boxing trainer was fun and watching the girls box was all too familiar. These girls are talented and going places. Girl power! Yes. I love it.

Dinner and drinks to end the night and a sore throat from the yelling and laughing. I gotta say it was a good day.

Long week

Man.....!!

You know when you have that type of week when you have so much to do but not enough time, will power, or energy to do it? AND you decide it's a good time to change your diet?

So I'm gonna end it right there because, well ^^^^^ all that.

MEXICO vs BRAZIL

Ah, what a beautiful San Francisco we live in. The World Cup live for all to view for free in the heart of the city. The sun shining. The green/yellow and red/black specks on the grass the fans painted. They yelled.....Mexico, Mexico to be returned by ole, ole, ole, Brazil. Tie game. 0-0. Great excitement though.

Aside from wishful thinking today was Wednesday. The day was pretty good.

Monday......ewwww

Back at the desk pouring our precious hours into a computer for the reward of a decent paycheck. We gotta eat, right?

Mondays alway bring about some moment of regret. Of not sleeping enough, not doing the laundry, not starting that new season of Orange is the New Black (seriously can't wait).

Weekends are never long enough. It's equivalent to jet lag. It takes a day to feel rested and then right back to the daily grind. The struggle!

Okay, okay. So it's not that bad. I got good music, good coffee and a new set of Legos to assemble on my breaks. Monday's almost behind me. Four more hours and it's gym and dinner time. Just another manic Monday.......sing it if you know it.

Pop's Day

Happy Father's Day to all applicable.  If that means your mom, your grandfather, your step-daddy, whatever. Have a great one. I've never given the day too much thought, its just another day. I've celebrated it but once and it was fun.

This particular morning though, I asked myself, how did this holiday come about? Well, according to Wikipedia, the holiday was inaugurated to compliment Mother's day and credit goes to the Central Methodist Episcopal Church.  Wow! So, its a Christian holiday? Crazy. Who knew.

My day involves the other half, his pop, his sister, the mission, some beers (drank!!), and a soccer game. Should be a good day.

Happy Methodist Episcopal Fathers Day holiday!!!
